OUR EMPLOYERS
Employers are key to SYIoT educational partners, ensuring that our provision meets the needs of the region, whether its an apprenticeship, an academic qualification, or a short course to meet specific needs. SYIoT works with over 5000 employers each year and that includes:
- Identifying what provision is required
- Working with us on the development of course content
- Supporting in the delivery of technical knowledge and skills
- Supporting in the delivery of employability skills for students
- Offering a work-based project to support their business and develop students’ skills
Our IoT has three core employers who are members of the IoT and who have a place on our board, driving our direction and provision forwards in key technical sector subject areas.
HLM Architects
HLM Architects has 6 studios across the UK: London, Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Dublin with our largest location in Sheffield. Over 200 talented individuals fill our studios. We work as one team delivering architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, masterplanning, urban design and environmental sustainable solutions to an international client base.
Founded 60 years ago, HLM has built a reputation for design excellence with a focus on solving our client’s challenges. We’re always mindful of the impact that design can have on people, communities and society. Our aim is simple: to deliver the highest performing buildings which have a positive impact on the lives of those who use them, and a positive impact on the world for future generations.
With the built environment accounting for 39% of global carbon emissions, we recognise our collective responsibility to create places which significantly reduce the impact on the world. Through our ‘Thoughtful Design’ culture, we have reinforced our passionate belief in making every project as sustainable as possible.
At HLM we’re committed to continuously learning, developing our own in-house Academy for our employees and supporting our future workforce by working closely with local schools, colleges and universities. Passionate about apprenticeships, HLM was also part of the Trailblazer which developed two Architectural Apprenticeship Standards.

Pendo
Pendo is on a mission to elevate the world’s experiences with software. Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Pendo is a global software business with offices in San Francisco, New York, Sheffield, London, Herzliya (Israel), Japan, and Australia. A new office will be opening in Munich in 2024.
